There's not a time that I can't remember having music in my life. Growing up the son of a southern Baptist preacher I heard a lot of gospel tunes. Those consisted mostly of vocal harmonies and piano. The music that my parents listened to, so therefore I listened to, was The Carpenter's, Tony Orlando and Dawn and The Beach Boys. My dad played the piano and my mother played the flute and xylophone. My family was filled with musicians. What really interested me though was guitar. My uncle played guitar. All of a sudden I was introduced to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot and BlackOak Arkansas. When I was 8 years old that same uncle took me to see KISS in concert. I'll never forget that. It changed my life forever. I pressured my parents and got a K Mart acoustic that year. I took some lessons at my elementary school but just really wasn't interested. At the age of 12 I heard this little known band at the time called Motley Crue. I knew at that moment what I wanted to do with my life and that was simply to make music. It was then that I took a very serious interest in music and guitar. I played in my first high school band at 15. I wasn't any good but boy I had some great influences that I was listening to. Ace Frehley, Mick Mars, George Lynch and Warren DeMartini just to name a few. At 17 I started trying to write songs. I didn't really know what that meant at the time but I do now. My songs were really basic and very juvenile in spots but at least I was writing. Things just grew from there. I loved writing but I wanted to do the band thing as well. My bands consisted of Diamondback, Hail Mary, Young Geezer, Lords of Porn, 4th and One, Voodoo Jones and Hunting Delilah just to name a few. I've extensively traveled and played the southeast most all of my adult life. I've reached a point in life where I want to focus on my songs and my songwriting. This site is dedicated to me, my music and my solo endeavors. Thank you so much for your support.
